Adventure-seekers can also head to The
Bahamas’ Out Islands, popular for snor-
keling and diving, kayaking, bird-watching
and ecotravel. The region melds European
and African heritage and traditions.
Eleuthera island is known for its pink
sand beaches, while Bimini was a favorite
of Ernest Hemmingway and Martin Luther
King Jr., and is said to have served as a
source of inspiration for their writing.

While beach settings and outdoor adventure draw groups to The Bahamas, the islands offer cultural insight into the Bahamians’ unique way of life. “Our cultural immersion inculcation is seen as pivotal to our sustainability,” said Erica
Ingraham, senior director of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation. “Ideologically, we want
to convey to our guests a sincere welcome, appreciation and belonging. We invite participation,
connection and immersion in myriad uniquely Bahamian activities, with the most hospitable
people in the world.”
Following is a sample of Bahamian themed events for incentives and other groups, crafted and
made available upon request, according to Ingraham.
◗ People-to-People Tea Party and the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band’s Beat Retreat: Hosted by the Governor General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas at the Government House in
Nassau. A People-to-People Tea Party can also be arranged at other locations.
◗ The Cat ’n’ Fiddle: A combined experience featuring Goombay rhythms (local style of music
using a drum), fire dancing and limbo.
◗ Rake ’n’ Scrape: Features different styles of dance: the
quadrille dance, plaiting of the maypole and the knock
