From waterborne activities like kayaking to waterfront event
venues that host receptions and meal functions, there are many
“liquid” opportunities for groups to tap into.
Following are some fun ideas that will appeal to many different groups planning on a Dells meeting.
Time at a waterpark is the highlight of many meetings in Wisconsin Dells, which introduced the country to its first indoor
waterpark and is currently home to the largest concentration of
both indoor and outdoor waterparks anywhere.
“It would not be fair to talk water in Wisconsin Dells without
touting its indoor/outdoor waterpark options,” said Rhonda
Parchem, marketing and communications manager for the Wis-
consin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau. “Convention centers
with waterpark facilities see an increase in meeting attendance,
and it’s easy to see why.”
Parchem explained that Dells resorts with convention
facilities have perfected the art of welcoming attendees who
are likely to bring their families and extend their stay for a mini
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is a fine example. A star
on the meetings map, it houses Wisconsin’s largest indoor
waterpark, where children will find nonstop entertainment and
adults will appreciate amenities such as a swim-up bar.
Chula Vista Resort and Great Wolf Lodge are two other
group-friendly options with indoor waterparks.

In addition to all the fun provided by local waterparks, there
are also natural waterborne opportunities for groups to explore
when meeting in Wisconsin Dells.
Rowboat and pontoon rentals are available via Mirror Lake
Boat Rentals, and another local outfitter, Dells Watersports,
offers pontoon, kayak and ski boat rentals.
According to Parchem, Redbeard Bowfishing Tours runs
charters and night fishing excursions for groups with eager
River’s Edge Resort is another jumping-off point for fishing
outings, as it has a bait shop and a boat launch, and it offers kayak, canoe and tube rentals.
According to Parchem, the resort also facilitates kayak and
canoe trips that require the group have anywhere from under
an hour of free time to as long as two days for trips that include
overnight camping on sandbars.
“Along with canoe and kayak rentals, River’s Edge also offers
a much lazier experience,” she added. “Groups can sit back and
relax in a tube and float down the Wisconsin River. This venue
