Aside from that classic, groups meeting throughout Minnesota can
count both on friendly Midwestern hospitality and delicious food and
beverage experiences that can be worked into their itineraries.
Food markets, culinary tours, cooking classes, restaurants and mi-crobrews are just some of the palate-pleasing opportunities awaiting
groups in the North Star State.
The Midtown Global Market is one of the culinary standouts in
Minneapolis, where groups will find food vendors from all over the
world as well as unique shops selling crafts, jewelry and more.
Becky Gazca, marketing and events manager with the Neighborhood Development Center, leads Taste of the Global Market tours.
“We weave our way through the market and have six to seven taste
experiences and meet some of the chefs, exposing people to all of
the different cultures you wouldn’t expect in Minnesota,” she said.
Located inside Midtown Global Market is Kitchen in the Market,
which facilitates hands-on cooking classes for groups.
“We are a working commercial kitchen and you get to experience
what it’s like to cook in a restaurant setting, then eat an amazing
meal,” said Molly Hermann, who owns Kitchen in the Market.
One class offered is called Cooking the Market, which includes
champagne cocktails and appetizers, and a tour of the Midtown
Global Market, which inspires groups to shop the market for ingredients and create a dish with the help of a chef.
The Lynhall, a market-inspired restaurant with a bakery, private
event space and kitchen studio, opened last year and offers group
classes and cooking demonstrations.
According to Andrea Roy, event manger for the venue, it’s a great
“destination for your away-day bonding with colleagues.”
Also available to groups meeting in Minneapolis are outings with
Hoppy Trolley Craft Brewery Tours and Twin Cities Food Tours.
